White30 helps you scan a barcode and see what's actually in the product — nutrition, ingredient safety, and what other shoppers thought. This page explains what we collect to make that work, and the rules for using the app.
What we collect
Everything below exists to run the app you're using — there's no data collected here that isn't tied to a feature you can see.

Examples
Why
Account
Email address, username, password (or your Google/Apple identity if you sign in that way)
To create and secure your account, and to show your username on anything you post
Scan history
Barcodes you've scanned, when you scanned them
So your history tab can show and search what you've looked up — private to you, and you can clear it any time
Reviews & votes
Star ratings, review text, Helpful/Unhelpful votes you cast
To show reviews on a product page, under your username
Reports & photos
Product reports you file, review reports, replacement photos you submit
So a moderator can check and fix incorrect catalog data
Your password is never stored in a form we can read — it's handled by our authentication provider (Supabase), which stores only a one-way hash.
How we use it
To run the app: authenticate you, show you your own history and reviews, display your reviews to other shoppers, run the moderation queue that keeps the catalog accurate, and enforce the rules in the Terms section below.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-preserving alternative to CAPTCHA — on sign-up, sign-in, and password changes, purely to confirm you're a real person and not an automated script. It doesn't build a profile of you or track you across other sites.
What we don't do
We do
Store your data on infrastructure protected by row-level access controls
Let you export nothing, sell nothing — your data isn't a product here
Give you a real, working delete button
We never
Run ads or an ad network inside the app
Use a third-party analytics or tracking SDK
Sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone
Moderation & safety
Reviews go through an automatic filter that blocks slurs (ordinary profanity is fine — we only filter hate speech), and anyone can flag a review or a product's data for a human moderator to look at.
If a moderator removes your review, you're told so directly, in the app's Messages tab. If your account is suspended, you're given one of the specific reasons below — never a silent lockout:
Inappropriate commentContent that violates our review standards
Spam accountAutomated, repetitive, or promotional behavior
Suspicious activityPatterns that look like abuse of the reporting or voting systems
OtherExplained directly in the notification you receive
A suspension stops future posting, reporting, and voting — it does not delete your existing reviews or account data. See Suspension & termination below.
Your controls
All of this lives in the Profile tab, self-service, no request needed:
Change your username (once every 30 days) or your password
Review, edit, or withdraw a pending report or photo suggestion you submitted
Remove individual items from your scan history, or clear it entirely
Delete your account outright
Retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, reviews, reports, and photo submissions. Scans stay in the app's anonymized usage counts — never linked back to you once your account is gone.
Children
White30 isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use White30 after that means you accept the update.

Terms of Use
Your account
You need one account per person, kept accurate, and you're responsible for what happens under it. If you sign in with Google or Apple, these terms still apply the same way.
Acceptable use
Use White30 to actually scan, review, and read about products. Specifically, don't:
Post hate speech, harassment, or content our slur filter is built to catch
Impersonate another person, brand, or a member of the White30 team
Automate scans, reviews, or votes, or otherwise abuse the reporting and voting systems
Scrape or bulk-extract catalog or review data
Your reviews & photos
You own what you write and submit. By posting a review or suggesting a photo, you give White30 a license to display it in the app — to other shoppers looking at that same product — for as long as your account and that content exist.
Product data disclaimer
Nutrition, ingredient, and safety information in White30 comes from public food databases and from other users — it's a starting point for your own judgment, not a substitute for reading the actual package or talking to a doctor or dietitian, especially if you have an allergy or a medical condition. We work to keep the catalog accurate, and that's exactly what the reporting tools throughout the app are for — but we can't guarantee every listing is current or error-free.
Suspension & termination
We can remove content or suspend an account for the reasons listed under Moderation & safety above. A suspension blocks future activity — reviews, reports, votes, scans, and signing back in — but doesn't erase what you've already posted. You can delete your own account at any time from the Profile tab; we can also close an account for a serious or repeated violation of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change. Using White30 after an update means you accept it.
